Our aim

To make it as easy as possible for local authorities to plan and deliver successful communications campaigns and behaviour change initiatives that support the Simpler Recycling requirements, including the introduction of new dry recycling and waste services, the rollout of food waste collections, efforts to reduce contamination, and wider waste reduction initiatives.

Examples of work include

  • Warwick and Stratford-on-Avon District Councils

    • Developed a comprehensive communications and implementation plan for joint service changes including campaign design, FAQs, staff briefings, social media and website updates.

    Broadland and South Norfolk District Councils

    • Reviewed existing waste communications and provided recommendations for brand development and behaviour change improvements.

    Cotswold District Council

    • Planned communications for new dry recycling and food waste collections, including artwork for resident facing communications.

    Cornwall Council

    • Created and delivered a plan for introducing restricted residual waste and new recycling services, supported by collection policy advice and a full review of waste and recycling web-pages.

    North East Lincolnshire Council

    • Supported waste service change and food waste pilot communications.

    London Borough of Redbridge

    • Led communications planning and asset delivery for the introduction of wheeled bins.

    Thurrock Council

    • Reviewed and refreshed communications approach, developed stakeholder briefings and interactive crew materials.

    Southwest Kent Partnership

    • Planned and designed targeted communications for communal and flat recycling sites.

    • Delivered service change communication plans for Newport, Blaenau Gwent, Conwy, Bridgend, Wrexham, Vale of Glamorgan and Flintshire.

    • Supported university focused recycling campaigns at Bangor University, University of South Wales and Swansea University.

    • Created campaign assets for service changes in Cardiff, Conwy, Pembrokeshire, Barry and Merthyr Tydfil

    • Produced food waste promotional campaigns for authorities including Rhondda Cynon Taf, Swansea and Gwynedd.

    • Delivered the Keeping up with the Joneses campaign to drive behaviour change in multiple councils.

  • Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council

    • Provided strategic communications support brand and asset creation to support the introduction of a new weekly recycling collection using a wheelie box system to maximise materials sorting and reduce contamination.

    WRAP Northern Ireland, DAERA and 11 councils

    • Developed and delivered behaviour change campaigns on food waste, recycling centres and materials recycling contributing to Northern Ireland surpassing EU recycling targets.

  • Through partnerships with global organisations including GOPA Tech and GIZ, we bring behaviour change expertise to major international waste and recycling initiatives.

    Philippines — Guimaras Island Plastics Recycling Pilot

    • Launched a door-to-door and drop-off plastics recycling pilot

    • Aimed to reduce plastic waste by 20% and prevent marine pollution

    • Developed communications to drive household participation and embed new behaviours

    Rwanda — Bugesera Weekly Waste Collection Pilot

    • Supported communications for a pilot to improve source separation and reduce illegal dumping

    • Worked with national and district government and GIZ to encourage uptake and household sorting.

    Namibia — Improving Waste Management in National Parks

    Working with KfW Development bank and the Namibian Government to improve waste and recycling systems in national parks, reducing littering and illegal dumping through public and stakeholder awareness.

    • Providing strategic communications advice to support behaviour change 

    • Scoping the requirements for developing a campaign identity and assets

    • Focusing on awareness and education initiatives for tourists, communities and park staff
