ReLondon | Recycling in Flats – Communications Toolkit
Development of an interactive toolkit and editable templates to help London boroughs improve recycling communications in purpose-built flats. We worked with ReLondon to create customisable assets that councils can easily adopt and apply across their flats and estates.

Project overview
Resource London (now ReLondon) created minimum service standards to help local authorities and housing providers improve recycling in purpose-built flats. These standards combine clear resident communications with practical operational guidance to boost participation and reduce contamination.
The communications were trialled across Peabody estates in six London boroughs, Camden, Hackney, Islington, Lambeth, Tower Hamlets and Westminster, to make bin areas clearer, more accessible and easier for residents to use.
We worked with Resource London to develop an interactive toolkit, allowing councils to easily adopt and
customise these minimum-standard materials for their own estates.
Project aim
To create a practical toolkit that gives councils and housing partners everything they need to deliver consistent, effective communications to support recycling services in purpose-built flats.

Proving guidance on installation for signage and recycling containers to maximise use
Showcasing examples from Peabody estates to demonstrate the toolkit in action
Outcomes
